Across the Line

First played: 2/20/2009

Words
You plant them like a seed
They will grow before you know it
They can wound if you don’t heed
I heard
From another friend in need
When the lines of communication stop
There’s nothing left to stop the bleeding

You can hide the truth
Make believe there’s proof
Read in between the lines in your mind
Put the blame on me
Put the blame on me
Soon you’ll be believin’ your own...

It wasn’t a fault of mine but - you said it was
So I took it across the line – everybody does
All that was left to find – I was right for once
So for once, don’t be mad at me
No one made you jump to your conclusions

Fear
A bitter medicine to taste
Hidden in the mind behind your eyes
Written in the lines across you face
So, we’re here
Not a motive left to waste
Should’ve left it at the scene of the crime
Another cryin’ victim without a trace

Can it be?
You can’t see there’s only one way out of this
Take it out on me

It wasn’t a fault of mine but - you said it was
So I took it across the line – everybody does
All that was left to find – I was right for once
So for once, don’t be mad at me
No one made you jump, no one made you jump
